That's not making gaming on Linux easier, that's making gaming on windows from linux easier...

The most questionable of questionable advice. First off, even using systemd is annoying.
I'd rather use atd and crond than systemd timers. Using ip instead of ifconfig will leave you unprepared for other operating systems. for a long time rsync was a pain to use because by default it used rsh instead of ssh, though that's improved now... but it won't work if the other side doesn't also have rsync installed, which isn't the default everywhere.

It's important to be aware of disc rot, but there's no need to be afraid.
And neither will the digital services. They're even more fragile than discs. I've already had half a dozen digital services disappear taking portions of my library with it, and even more often had those services strip away things that I've bought even if they don't go down. Though Even if we had no DRM, they wouldn't last forever. No DRM is definitely the one that will last the longest though because then you're not restricted in platform-shifting it as would be necessary to keep carrying it forward to the future.
